I love a Baby Blessing!  
It is my great joy to perform baby blessings and dedications for people of all beliefs. As an independent, ordained Interfaith Minister, I follow no denominational rules or regulations. I serve your needs, whatever they may be.

Depending on what's meaningful to you and your family, I might create a new interpretation of a "baptism" or I might welcome your child with other cultural symbols. What's important is the intention of welcoming and honoring a new soul in your lives. Baby Blessings can be a great way to welcome an adopted child into your family, or to honor children from a previous marriage. I can even bless you new puppy or other animal companion.

Age of baby or child
Use your judgment. There is no upper age limit; the child can be "blessed" no matter what age. 
 
Secular or Religious? 
Either way. We have many ways of creating a secular ceremony that feels right to you, and the important thing is to create a ceremony feels right to you.

Godparents
In the old days of the Christian tradition, Godparents were named to raise children if the parents died. This ensured care for the children, but it also ensure continuity of the faith. Today the role is only symbolic because our legal system determines custody. You may ask Godparents to vow to honor the child's spiritual development, or her growth and unfolding.

Not married?
Don't let that deter you from celebrating the miracle of love.

Fee
The fee for meeting with you, writing the ceremony, traveling to your location and performing the ceremony is $175. Locations 25 miles or more outside South Charlotte, NC will require a small travel fee. The fee is not a donation and it is not tax-deductible.  We can do up to two children at a time for this fee. If we are blessing a newly blended family, all the children will be blessed for a slightly higher fee.

Location
At your home, indoors or out, depending on the weather and your preference. Or we can use a public outdoor space.
